?Students from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and students and professors from Miles College are working with the Fairfield students to prepare them for the tournament. ,Spyder Coats

Dudley plans to take about 30 ninth-graders and 10th-graders to the event. The group wants to leave by train on Feb. 9 and return on Feb. 13. A celebration dinner is being planned for the students on Feb. 14 at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham. Tickets are being sold,Spyder Skiwear, and the money will help finance the trip.

Dudley said she is thrilled with the outpouring of support from throughout the Birmingham area. Individuals have made donations of $50-$100 to help the students, many of whom don't have enough money on their own to make the trip. Dudley said she received at least $680 in donations on Tuesday and another $500 on Wednesday of this week.
